The Marine Corps News published an article chronicling the recent success of a VMFA-142 mission over Al Anbar province. Both VMFA-142 and the Marine unit on the ground were reserve units.

VMFA-142 is a United States Marine Corps F/A-18 attack squadron based at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Atlanta, GA. Currently the squadron is back at home in Dobbins after a 6 month deployment to Iraq.
