The Mighty Gators
VMFA-142 is a United States Marine Corps F/A-18 attack squadron based at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Atlanta, GA. Currently the squadron is back at home in Dobbins after a 6 month deployment to Iraq.

Go Chigger! That's the call sign of the hard charging Marine that captured the Flag. Love to see the support of the CO and other officers. Great spirit, Great Squadron. This from an old Phrog driver.

I like the Gator Bait picture !! : )
Every unit has an offical unit guidon (or Flag). Battalions, Squadrons, and larger units also have organizational colors. The red guidon in this case was "borrowed" from Marine Air Logistics Squadron-26. Shame on a unit for losing their guidon.
